Religion & Theology / Assisted suicide
« on: November 25, 2013, 10:30:19 AM »
In Canada, the topic of assisted suicide keeps on popping up, and the includes trying to get legislation passed to make it legal.

One identifiable group against this, is the evangelicals, according to todays National Post.

If people are convinced that you get zapped to heaven as soon as you die, then why put a loved one though needless pain and some times torture of wasting away?

(my personal thoughts are this, I do not believe in reincarnation that you go to a better place (Heaven) or a worse place (Hell) when you die, but rather believe in the resurrection that Jesus and the prophets looked forward to.)

Religion & Theology / Reincarnation or Resurrection?

Some statements hitch on to our mind...

I was just in Jordan, and walked down to the Treasury in Petra, one of the 7 wonders of the world.

OUr guide showed us burial sites in the carious rocks going down.

I asked him if they were cremated or not, he is not.

Then he said this, there were two groups of people, one who believed in the resurrection, and other other who believed in reincarnation, ie if you are good you go to a better place, heaven, if you are bad you go to a worse place, Hell.

Thought that was interesting.

What should Man expect of God? Real question, needs real thoughtful answer.

Town Hall / Thanks for the support
« on: May 29, 2013, 07:51:47 AM »
Just wanted to say thanks for the support we are getting, our income now covers the hosting and other costs.

John the Baptist was out proclaiming PREPARE YE THE WAY OF THE LORD.  Out in the country, middle of nowhere.

It was John the Baptist. Matthew 3:1-3 tells us, “In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea, And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. For this is he that was spoken of by the prophet Esaias, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.”

I was at the place that it is thought he Baptized Jesus.

I wondered, why would he be proclaiming this out on the middle of nowhere?  Why not where people are?

I know some people are doing the same thing, feeling impressed by God to go live in the middle of nowhere to be sanctified, or get ready for the second coming etc.

Doesn't it seem weird that people should not be proclaiming this were people are?  NOt in the middle of a desert where there are a few people.  The place this happened at was about 60 miles from the nearest city.

Just a random thought..

Town Hall / When Panic comes
« on: April 14, 2013, 09:15:30 AM »
It seems that panic comes upon people when they see that someone else posts something that is not the same as they view things.

I have found, after 20+ years of social media experience, those who have the weakest position get upset the most.

Religion & Theology / Isaiah 26:19
« on: April 09, 2013, 11:56:21 AM »
(It is my turn to send around a Bible promise this week to our office staff, this is what I sent)

Isaiah 26:19

New International Version (NIV)

19 But your dead will live, Lord;
    their bodies will rise—
let those who dwell in the dust
wake up and shout for joy—
your dew is like the dew of the morning;
the earth will give birth to her dead.

Many of us know and understand too well the pain of loss of someone that is close to our hearts.

Isaiah shares a wonderful promise that gives the hurting, the lonely and the scarred hope for the future.

Even so, Come Lord Jesus Come.

Town Hall / Men and the "get in touch with your feelings" stuff
« on: December 08, 2012, 05:22:49 PM »
I just read a rant that said men had no feelings, I did not finish it as it was silly.

Men have a lot of feelings

We feel hungry at times
We feel cold at times.
In water we feel wet.
We feel tired.
We feel thirsty.
We feel like watching TV
We feel like talking about football

the list is endless.

Just sayin' that's all.

Religious Lie: "God only paid for sins until the next time you sin."
Forgiveness is available until we get to eternity and then our eternal fate is sealed. Right now, people are free to sin and repent; but there is no forgiveness of sin for the damned in hell.

JUST A THINK ABOUT IT: Will you embrace the full meaning of Christmas? Jesus didn't die just so you could go to heaven. He came to give you life - His life; an abundant life free from guilt, condemnation, and slavery to both sins and religion. He came to bring a grace revolution to the world and tha
