College & Bible Studies / Leading a Bible Study
« on: October 26, 2014, 08:02:48 PM »
I may be selected to lead a weekly bible study, possibly starting in January 2015. I'll use the RSV because it has good cross references and footnotes.

In the past at other churches, I have attended bible studies where the pastors were lukewarm about discussing the scriptures. Whenever I and others would show up, the pastor would get a frown on his face because he wasn't excited about doing it. It actually looked like he didn't want to do it, but since people showed up, he could not back out of it.

If I lead a bible study, I will do it with tenacity and gusto for a couple of reasons:
1. Souls are at stake.
2. It will have an eternal impact on people that will follow us to heaven.
3. It is God's Word to us and for our benefit, so let's dig into it.

If it happens, it should be good. :)

What is the answer?

Jesus is the answer because He is God in the flesh (John 14:9b) and He is risen from the dead (Mark 16:9) and He is going to return to the earth. No man can get to God or to heaven except through Jesus (John 14:6).

There is a still a problem. Sometimes they work sometimes they don't. Just in the last 5 minutes I've discovered that sometimes (about 20%) the links will work normally for a few minutes and then stop again. I couldn't click on the topic for this thread. I to click on it from the list of recent posts under Stan's name to access this.

Agreed. Most of the time the quote and edit functions work, but sometimes they don't.

Then why should you limit it by one son?" even ( limited or ) Ordinary men have more than one son, and ( unlimited ) God has got only one son." Why?
Prior to the creation of men, angels were the first sons of God (Job 38:7). For humans, Adam was the first son of God (Luke 3:38) and the Lord Jesus Christ was the second Son of God (Luke 1:35). All believers in the Lord Jesus Christ are now classified as sons of God (John 1:12). So to answer your question, yes, there are many sons of God through Christ sacrifice on the cross. Salvation through the Lord Jesus Christ comes by accepting him with all your heart and confessing with your mouth that he is Lord (Romans 10:9).

Financial News / Starting a business
« on: October 13, 2014, 07:44:01 PM »
I've been thinking about starting up some sort of a business, but to make money, a product must be offered that people are willing to pay for. The million dollar question for a new business is: what product?

I've looked at starting a website with drop shipping, but Amazon (and others) have cornered the market on offering the lowest prices for quality items.

Hummmmm.... gotta keep thinking...

College & Bible Studies / Finished an MPA
« on: October 09, 2014, 02:29:16 PM »
Well, I just finished another degree (an MPA) and that is probably the last one I'll ever pursue. It was more time-consuming than what I anticipated and I'm soooooo exhausted.  I feel like a marathon runner collapsing after crossing the finish line.

I will not pursue a Masters in Theology unless the Lord directs me to in the future because I'm simply too exhausted.  I already began one Masters in Theology, but after completing three classes, the program was discontinued.  ::) So I finished the MPA instead. It was a tradeoff.

It's ironic that I love the bible and can quote it backwards and forwards, but I don't have a Theology degree. However, anyone who has studied Theology knows that the discipline goes far beyond just the bible i.e. history, hermeneutics, et al.

alright god is limited or unlimited ? what is your answer ?

At the burning bush 3000 years ago in the Middle East, the Lord said to Moses "I AM" (Exodus 3:14). The Lord Jesus is eternally unchanging (Hebrews 13:8 ). Jesus also said he is the "Alpha and Omega" or the beginning and the end of time (Revelation 22:13). You can know him RIGHT NOW. If you will simply ask him to come into your heart, he will enter you and will become your Lord forever (Romans 8:9). Bless you in your thoughts.  :)

Jesus on hell being a fire- Matt 5:22, Matt 6:30, Matt 7:19, Matt 25:41, Mark 9:43, 48-49 (also talks of being eternal), Luke 16:24
Rev 20:14-15 speaks both of fire and it's eternity.  That is by far NOT an exhaustive list.

Something from my personal study (from various commentaries/authors)- Do you know why God had Adam first, then Moses institute burnt offerings for the sin/atonement offerings in the bible?  Because it would point to the final destination of sin and the sinner- the lake of fire.  The animal was suffering the payment for sin for us, until the Lamb of God did it for us.
Wow, I never saw that before. Excellent observation.

I cannot quote, modify or split topics. I can only reply.

...the Fact is that Supreme Lord Krishna exists, but we posses no such intelligence to understand him..

The Lord Jesus Christ is God in the flesh (John 1:1-4). Jesus is the way, the truth and the life; and the only way to get to heaven is through Jesus (John 14:6-9).

Jesus presented the concept of continued life after the death of the mortal body when Jesus told the story of Lazarus and the rich man. Jesus did not present a demonic concept, but he presented an eternal reality.

Jesus said that when his mortal body died, he would raise himself back up (John 2:19). He did. If Jesus had temporarily "ceased to exist" when his mortal body died, then he could not have raised himself from the dead. Food for thought.

Hummmmm I wonder if this will be the first internet argument in the history of the worldwide web where I've changed someone's mind... mmmmm....

From my Facebook post this morning-

"Upon returning to Pearl Harbor the day after the attack by Imperial Japanese forces, Admiral William Halsey surveyed the wreckage from the bridge of the USS Enterprise and told his crew-

"Before we're through with them, the Japanese language will be spoken only in hell."

We need men like THAT to fight this war against Jihadist terror."

Here is a Christian pastor in Iran who is imprisoned for "spreading corruption on Earth:"

It is a religious-political conflict that does not recognize national boundaries. Jihadists believe that national boundaries are artificial and the boundary of Sharia law is the entire world.  Pentagon leadership described the looming religious-political conflict as apocalyptic in nature.

For example, Muslims in a German city donned jackets that read "SHARIAH POLICE" as they attempted to enforce Sharia law. Here is the article:

Religious Lie: "God only paid for sins until the next time you sin."
Forgiveness is available until we get to eternity and then our eternal fate is sealed. Right now, people are free to sin and repent; but there is no forgiveness of sin for the damned in hell.

JUST A THINK ABOUT IT: Will you embrace the full meaning of Christmas? Jesus didn't die just so you could go to heaven. He came to give you life - His life; an abundant life free from guilt, condemnation, and slavery to both sins and religion. He came to bring a grace revolution to the world and tha
