What are your thoughts on John MacArthur?  His study Bible?

I've never heard of the fellow and am not qualified to comment on him, but I did look him up in Wikipedia and found the read to be facinating.
"So then, stand firm and hold to the traditions :o which you were taught by us, either by word of mouth or by letter" (2 Thessalonians 2:15).

John MacArthur is a very strong bible teacher.  I can't comment on his study bible though.

I think he is a 4 point Calvinist, if I am not mistaken.  His study bible fits his theology.  Overall, I tend to like his stuff.  If you call his ministry (I assume you can do this online, as well) and get on his mailing list, you will receive an offer for a free book or cd each month.  I usually only take the books, but hey, his sermons are OK, too.  I have used some of his material over the years as a resource for my own lessons/studies.

I do disagree with some of his theology, but overall I like him.

Thanks everyone.  I have been familiar with him for years but just wanted others' opinions.

I thought he was a 5 pointer. There is a pastor of local church near me and he is a graduate of his seminary in southern California. This guy is a 5 pointer. I just recently discovered Missouri Synod Lutherans are 4 pointers.
John 14:6 Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except by me."

I might be wrong.  I thought he disagreed with the L.  Limited Atonement.

But again, I might be wrong.

Or, you may be right. I don't know either.

Incidently, Limited Atonement is the point that Missouri Synod Lutherans don't agree with either.

I like him and his study Bible. I believe that I've seen recently that he has a new revised study Bible out now. His theology is written out in the back of his Bible and also there are plenty of notes, charts, maps and graphs through out.

I have one and it is one of the best.:D
Isaiah 48:18,Oh that you had paid attention to my commandments! Then your peace would have been like a river, and your righteousness like the waves of the sea.

JUST A THINK ABOUT IT: Will you embrace the full meaning of Christmas? Jesus didn't die just so you could go to heaven. He came to give you life - His life; an abundant life free from guilt, condemnation, and slavery to both sins and religion. He came to bring a grace revolution to the world and tha
