Moody Bible Institute: Scofield Certificate?
« on: August 09, 2008, 10:44:24 AM »
I'm thinking about taking a bible correspondence course from the Moody Bible Institute. Specifically, I'm looking at their Scofield Certificate:

Scofield Plus Three is all you need to complete the Scofield Bible Studies Certificate. This 30-CEU package includes the three courses in the Scofield Complete Series plus the three CEUs needed to round out the Scofield Bible Studies Certificate. The tuition cost of enrolling in these courses individually would be $747 – with the Scofield Plus Three package, you save $162. Total cost $585.

Do you know anything about the Scofield bible? If so, can you please elaborate?

This particular correspondence course was first introduced by the Moody Bible Institute in 1901 -- long before the advent of online education. It's a go-at-your-own-pace correspondence program and it doesn't count for college credit (it's for continuing education credits or CEUs for short).

I'm going crazy not studying the bible and this will invigorate my spiritual life. :boxing:

From a doctrinal perspective, what are your thoughts about this particular program? Is it sound?

I'm definitely not impressed with the MBI website, but hopefully their correspondence coursework will overshadow the deficiencies in their user-unfriendly website!

JUST A THINK ABOUT IT: Will you embrace the full meaning of Christmas? Jesus didn't die just so you could go to heaven. He came to give you life - His life; an abundant life free from guilt, condemnation, and slavery to both sins and religion. He came to bring a grace revolution to the world and tha
