Here is a very interesting video. What is your position on the Shroud of Turin as being the burial cloth of Jesus Christ?

Isaiah 48:18,Oh that you had paid attention to my commandments! Then your peace would have been like a river, and your righteousness like the waves of the sea.

I have no proof, but yes, I believe it's really a true image of Jesus. Do you?
"So then, stand firm and hold to the traditions :o which you were taught by us, either by word of mouth or by letter" (2 Thessalonians 2:15).

We can have something better, we can have his image in our heart.

Hi guys,

I posted this at my website nearly three years ago and thought it might be of interest to you.  Like you, I believe it is authentic.

You might be interested in the notes Joel [Not the prophet! ] took from the documentary The Case for Christ's Resurrection. Whether the scientists involved were biased or not is unknown, but you can at least google for rebuttals to each of these and judge for yourself.

The case against the authenticity of the shroud:

1. The Carbon 14 dating test placed the sample taken to be woven between 1260 and 1390 - consistent with the earliest known record of the shroud in 1353.

2. The d'Arcis memorandum dated to be from 1389 claims that the shroud was painted by an artist.

The case for the authenticity of the shroud:

1. The uniqueness of Christ's wounds
A. Puncture wounds on the scalp
B. Wound in anatomical right side - the same width as a 1st century Roman lance
C. Wounds on hands and feet consistent with nails
D. Abrasion marks on shoulders consistent with having carried heavy object
E. Over 100 scourge marks on torso and legs consistent with Roman whip

2. Coins Contemporary with Crucifixion
A. One minted by Pontius Pilate 29-33 AD contains rare misspelling/ imprint on anatomical right eye of shroud
B. Anatomical left eye - imprint of Julia "lepton" minted only in 29 AD in honor of Caesar's mother.

3. Rare limestone on bloody foot area called "travertine aragonite" found in small radius around Jerusalem.

4. Imprints of numerous flowers indigenous to Palestine and bloom March and April/ ie "pistacia lentiscus, chrysanthemum coronarium"
A. Appear plucked longer than 24 hours but less than 72 hours
B. Pollen grains imaged on shroud including "gundelia tunaforte" or crown of thorns plant
C. None of the pollens were coated in tempora - matching those imaged

5. Image suggests rigormortis, but not putrifaction - consistent with body being dead over 24 hours but not 72 hours.

6. Blood areas are human blood
A. Contain hemoglobin
B. Positive test for serum "albumen"
C. No image of blood - indicates blood was on shroud before image

7. No evidence of painting or of pigment
A. No directionality, capillarity, brush strokes, or pigment
B. No shadows or outlines

8. Blood flow consistent with gravity
A. Law of gravity discovered 1693
B. Law of blood circulation discovered 1666

9. Ethnologists and anthropologists identified victim as man of semitic origin in early 30s - image includes "payos" or sidelocks visible on sides of face

10. Exceptional situation
A. Unusual for crucified victims to be buried in fine linen
B. Normally they are thrown in mass graves

11. No image of thumbs
- A forger or artist would have had to know that nails through the wrist damaged the median nerves causing thumbs to involuntarily turn toward the palms - thus no image on cloth.

12. Nails through wrist contrary to trend in medieval art

13. Talent of artist would have to exceed that of the known great artists

14. 3D distance information - No other known photographs have 3D qualities encoded.

15. Over 150,000 hours of STURP research concluded the image is of a real man and not a painting or product of an artist.

16. Carbon 14 dating process disputed - Work of Ray Rogers claims the tested sample was taken from a patched/rewoven area of shroud.

Until He comes,

Joel

How did the image on the Shroud come into being?

Ever since Mr. Secondo Pia took the first photograph of the shroud in 1898, the Shroud of Turin has been the subject of intense scientific study. A negative image is what appeared on a developed film (negative) back in the days of 35mm photography.

No one could understand how a perfect, full length negative image of a human body could be formed on an ancient piece of linen cloth. Scientists found it difficult to accept the fact that it was a Jesus Miracle, but to date no one has been able to find an explanation. When the scientists did investigations with very modern sophisticated instruments, even more surprising facts emerged. They discovered that the image on this ancient cloth is more than just an ordinary photo negative, it also has digital information from which 3D images could be made. Many other surprising findings were also made, as detailed below.

Normally a photo captures the reflected light bouncing off the subject being photographed. This means that there will always be some areas with shadows on the photo, like on the eyes or behind the nose. The Shroud photo has absolutely no shadows; it is as if the light originated from the body of the subject, and radiated out of the body itself to form the image.

A few years after the invention of photography, the first revelation of the miraculous photographic quality of the Holy Shroud occurred in 1898 when Mr. Secondo Pia took the first photograph of the Holy Shroud. With the advent of the Digital Age, the second revelation of the miraculous digital qualities of the Holy Shroud occurred in 1976, when American Physicist John Jackson and colleague Bill Mottern scanned a Shroud photograph on a VP-8 digital image analyser.

The VP-8 image analyser is an instrument used by NASA (the American Government space agency which sends rockets into space and made men walk on the moon) to convert photos of the surfaces of Planets like the Moon and Mars into topographical maps – that is to make three dimensional - 3D maps showing mountains and valleys. The VP-8 image analyzer produced a perfect 3D image of the shroud photo. These scientists had tried many other photos, before and after, on the VP-8 to get a 3D result, but they never got a 3D result with any photo except from the Holy Shroud Jesus photo.

The results on the Shroud were so spectacular, that these hard core scientists are convinced that it is a miraculous image of Jesus Christ. Seen below is the 3D image created on the VP-8 image analyser.

A theoretical possibility is seen in the following:

A blast of heat follows 1/10th of a second later from the thermal energy being released. A 1 megaton bomb produces 10,000,000° C at the blast site. The heat slowly dissipates to 5,000° C as it reaches a 4 mile radius and 100° C as it reaches 10 miles away. In contrast, a conventional bomb only produces 5,000° C, and that heat dissipates entirely within 1/10th of a mile. Since the majority of the human body is composed of water, the intense heat of a nuclear bomb instantly vaporizes people within a 3 mile radius. Their bodily fluids evaporate, and the remaining solid tissues (bones, organs, and muscles) leave an unidentifiable residue of carbon and ash before the electrical signals from their nerves reach their brains. Shadows of people close to ground zero are formed on concrete structures behind them.

A nuclear detonation releases a short intense burst of gamma rays that create an electromagnetic pulse (EMP) of thousands of volts. The EMP from just one bomb can disable the power grid for a large section of a nation. Electrical conductors such as wires, antennas, and other metal objects will be severely damaged. The EMP will irreparably damage micro circuits, which are increasingly used in everyday equipment such as cell phones, computers, pacemakers, and navigational equipment on airplanes.

From:  http://www.notimetokill.org/ch3.htm

Assuming the image on the shroud is that of Jesus:

We have seen the image is like that of a photographic negative, in addition to the ability of nuclear power to vaporize human bodies.  As well as to leave photographic images of people on stone walls through the Hiroshima atomic bomb experience.
Theoretically, at Jesus resurrection, God provided the nuclear power with its radiation into His physical body, as can be be suggested in 1 Cor.15:52: "In a flash, in the twinkling of an eye...," we will be changed, from the perishable to the imperishable and from the mortal to the immortal, in vs 54.  IMO, This event provided the exact right amount of the real power to imprint the photographic image on the shroud.

Which leaves us with the thought that Jesus resurrected body was like that of the angels God sent to the earth on various other missions.  Such as in Gen.18, when Abraham saw the pre-incarnated theophany of Jesus, calling Him Lord, along with two other angels.  All had dinner together.  There is also the issue in Gen.6:2-4 pertaining to the sons of God, seen my most expositors as Satan's angels, as recorded in Job 1:6 and 2:1, who left their first estate in heaven to take human daughters of men as their wives and have children by them, recorded as the Nephilim, the giants on the earth.  Which is to reveal that angels had the power to materialized as humans in every aspect a normal human being has.

That explains why Jesus stated He was flesh and bones in Lk.24:39 after His resurrection.  Yet He was also able to appear in a locked room with the other disciples in Jn.20:19, as well as to disappear from the sight of the two men on their way to Emmause, He had dinner with in Lk.24:31.  In addition to ascending into heaven, in Acts 1:9, He could hardly have human body weight in order to escape the gravity of the earth without power of some kind to do so.  There is still another example in Acts 9:7, where Saul's companions on the road to Damascus heard the commotion of when he saw the brilliance of Jesus presence confronting him and falling to the ground.  Though they heard it, they saw nothing other than Saul.  All of which is to point out the Scriptural facts that Jesus resurrection body is seen as being very similar to that of the angels who appeared here on the earth - and not that of the physical human body He was buried in.

One thing is certain from the Scriptures, Jesus resurrection body was not the same body He died in, or it would make such passages of Scripture as 1 Cor.15:52-54 and 1 Jn.3:2 false.  In addition, the very same bodily condition will take place with the tribulation saints who participate in the first resurrection, who are to become priests of God and of Christ and rule with Him for 1,000 years, according to Rev.20:4 and 6.  Just like God's angels He sent to earth who were seen by mankind, in numerous places.

JUST A THINK ABOUT IT: Will you embrace the full meaning of Christmas? Jesus didn't die just so you could go to heaven. He came to give you life - His life; an abundant life free from guilt, condemnation, and slavery to both sins and religion. He came to bring a grace revolution to the world and tha
