Did Jesus ever have the sniffles?
« on: December 17, 2012, 10:55:50 AM »
When the pollen count was too high, did Jesus ever have an allergy attack?

Did Jesus ever get sick?

If Jesus could get cut, then could He also get sick?  :o

The activities of Christ in His first advent as recorded by four Gospels without a single remark about His ever being ill leads me to speculate that He didn't ever "have the sniffles."  :)

I agree with Quasar that it's not spelled out in the Gospels, however in Hebrews it says Jesus suffered as we did.  I think (I not the bible or Lord), that in the years prior to His public ministry, He was able to be sick, have colds, hit his thumb with a hammer, ect.
I think once He was revealed as the Christ, all that changed.  He wasn't less God before that, He just wanted to experience humanity.

Just a thought

That's an interesting thought. Fascinating. Hummmm...

I speculate that Jesus was never sick, even before it was revealed that He was the Christ because (1) sickness is from the devil and (2) He would not receive or accept anything from the devil, such as a sickness (devil). However, when He was an infant, He probably didn't have cogent human thoughts and, subsequently, He probably couldn't command the sicknesses (devils) to leave Him. On the other hand, since He was sinless, it was probably impossible for sickness to possess Him.

I wasn't there, so all of this is speculation!  :o

I believe that all sickness is from the devil, unlike accidentally smashing our thumb with a hammer. Yes, I know that's a medieval belief system from the Middle Ages. LOL

Forgiveness is available until we get to eternity and then our eternal fate is sealed. Right now, people are free to sin and repent; but there is no forgiveness of sin for the damned in hell.

JUST A THINK ABOUT IT: Will you embrace the full meaning of Christmas? Jesus didn't die just so you could go to heaven. He came to give you life - His life; an abundant life free from guilt, condemnation, and slavery to both sins and religion. He came to bring a grace revolution to the world and tha
