When a child asks his parent "why," is the child questioning the authority or wisdom of his parent? No, of course not.  Similarly, if God orders the killing of everyone in a village (to include babies), asking "why" is a legitimate question that does not challenge the authority or wisdom of the Lord.  :)

Deuteronomy 20:16-18

16 But of the cities of these people, which the Lord thy God doth give thee for an inheritance, thou shalt save alive nothing that breatheth:

17 But thou shalt utterly destroy them; namely, the Hittites, and the Amorites, the Canaanites, and the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites; as the Lord thy God hath commanded thee:

18 That they teach you not to do after all their abominations, which they have done unto their gods; so should ye sin against the Lord your God.

If the child is given the answer and seeks another they are questioning the parent and you are questioning God because you keep rejecting the answer He gives.
Isaiah 48:18,Oh that you had paid attention to my commandments! Then your peace would have been like a river, and your righteousness like the waves of the sea.

Here's a better question, "Saved." Did God order the Jews to kill the babies to prevent the Jews from sinning? :o

Deuteronomy 20:16-18

Thou shalt save alive nothing that breatheth. (v16)

Thou shalt utterly destroy them; (v17)

That they teach you not to do after all their abominations. (v18)

"So then, stand firm and hold to the traditions :o which you were taught by us, either by word of mouth or by letter" (2 Thessalonians 2:15).

MeAgain. That is the same question you have been asking, in fact 4 times now, and the answer is still the same. Verse 18. I am not trying to insult you but the only thing I can figure is that you are rejecting what God says and want a human answer from human logic or you are asking something other then what you are writing and just not asking it very good.

Forgiveness is available until we get to eternity and then our eternal fate is sealed. Right now, people are free to sin and repent; but there is no forgiveness of sin for the damned in hell.

JUST A THINK ABOUT IT: Will you embrace the full meaning of Christmas? Jesus didn't die just so you could go to heaven. He came to give you life - His life; an abundant life free from guilt, condemnation, and slavery to both sins and religion. He came to bring a grace revolution to the world and tha
