False teachings of the Catholic church
« on: April 29, 2013, 10:27:12 PM »
Forgiveness of Sin - Catholics believe forgiveness of sin is achieved through church ritual, with the assistance of a priest in confession.
That is works salvation and not by grace alone through faith alone.

The Bible - Catholics believe that truth is found in the Bible, as interpreted by the church, but also found in church tradition.
That means the bible is not all we need.

Catholics believe, Immaculate Conception of Mary
That means that the bible is wrong because it says all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.

Catholics believe, Infallibility of the Pope
That means that the Pope is equal with God.

Sacraments - Catholics believe the sacraments are a means of grace(salvation)
More works salvation.

Salvation - The Catholic religion teaches that salvation depends on faith, works and sacraments.
Like I said works salvation.

Salvation (Losing Salvation) - Catholics believe that salvation is lost when a responsible person commits a mortal sin. It can be regained through repentance and the sacrament of confession.
That means that we are saved by works and kept by works.

Prayer - Catholics believe in praying to God and also praying to Mary or a saint to intercede on their behalf.
This means that Jesus was wrong as He told us Who to pray to.

Hell - The New Advent Catholic Encyclopedia defines hell in the strict sense, as "the place of punishment for the damned" including limbo of infants, limbo of the Fathers, and purgatory.

Isaiah 48:18,Oh that you had paid attention to my commandments! Then your peace would have been like a river, and your righteousness like the waves of the sea.

You have not provided one official Catholic source to prove your opinions. Providing a link to an internet website isn't proof. Or maybe to you (Mr. "Saved") an internet website is proof. LOL  :o

You are like any other cult member. You reject the truth even when presented.

You reject the truth even when presented. We all have this command;
Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath,

Yet the Catholic church snubs its nose at it and has many images and statues that they bow before and pray before. Like any false religion they make up their own rules.

The Catholic church snubs its nose at it and has many images and statues that they bow before and pray before. Like any false religion they make up their own rules.

At the instruction of God, the Jews created two angelic statutes and placed them above the mercy seat. (Exodus 25:18-20)
http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=exod%2025:18-20&version=KJV

At the instruction of God, Moses carved a snake image out of bronze and placed it on a pole and whoever looked at it lived. (Numbers 21:9)
http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=numbers%2021:9&version=KJV

These statutes and images were not in violation of the 10 commandments. Nobody (in their right mind) worshiped these statutes. Context is everything. LOL  :)

If you bow your head to pray before a photo of your deceased parents, grandparents or loved ones, you are not praying to the image itself (if you're in your right mind). The photos of your loved ones evokes emotions, memories, thoughts and prayers. That's it.
"So then, stand firm and hold to the traditions :o which you were taught by us, either by word of mouth or by letter" (2 Thessalonians 2:15).

The answer is that it is sin as God makes no exceptions. We are not to make any graven images of anything in heaven or on earth in relation to spiritual issues and prayer is a spiritual issue. The catholic church and Catholics snub their nose at God's 2nd command about this by making excuses as how to try and get around it.

God instructed the Jews to make the graven images of angels to be placed on top of the mercy seat. The scripture (above) was given to you as proof. Are you saying that God made a mistake in his instructions to make graven images of angels?  ;)

Like any cult member you seek to make a mockery of God's word by trying pit scripture against scripture to justify your sin. The 2nd commandment is to make no graven images of anything in heaven or on earth and that has not changed. In regards to the mercy seat God did command that, but unless you can show me some scripture where He has commanded the church to also make images then the Catholic church is in sin. Also the Mercy seat was never bowed down to, prayed at or through, or handled directly. It represented the place of mercy where the blood was sprinkled.
Here is a picture of the mercy seat;

If you would like to read about the mercy seat go here.

Yes, you are correct in your statement that God commanded the making of a graven image for the mercy seat.  :)

Cult
1.A system of religious veneration and devotion directed toward a particular figure or object.

So no cult members do not go to heaven. The only way to heaven is repentance toward God and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. It is not Jesus plus sacraments. It is Jesus alone or there is no faith.

You did not answer my question. Where in the bible does God say He wants the church to make graven images?

I look forward to entering the Kingdom of Heaven.  :)

A lot of people look forward, BUT!
Mat 7:21-24
Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:
You did not answer my question. Where in the bible does God say He wants the church to make graven images?

Also the Catholics call the priest "father" in direct rebellion against the word of God.
Mat. 23:9
And call no [man] your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven.

JUST A THINK ABOUT IT: Will you embrace the full meaning of Christmas? Jesus didn't die just so you could go to heaven. He came to give you life - His life; an abundant life free from guilt, condemnation, and slavery to both sins and religion. He came to bring a grace revolution to the world and tha
