✞ What does ""being saved" mean???

Salvation, or "being saved" means redemption from the consequences of sin, damnation. In practical terms, God's salvation is what we need to get to heaven and attain eternal life.

One must believe or trust in Christ's death, burial and resurrection for their salvation in order to be saved, declared righteous. (1 Cor. 15:3,4; Rom. 4;25; 1 Thess. 4:14)

 1 Thessalonians 4:14
For if we *believe* that *Jesus died and rose again*, even so them also which sleep(died) in Jesus will God bring with him.” (emphasis added for clarity)
"...to make all men see"(Ephesians 3:9)

We don't change God's message -- His message changes us.

More of your false teachings. One has to come to repentance toward God and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ not just believe the facts.
No repentance, no salvation
Isaiah 48:18,Oh that you had paid attention to my commandments! Then your peace would have been like a river, and your righteousness like the waves of the sea.

Crusader,

I agree that salvation involves getting to heaven. It also involves salvation from destructive forces while living here on earth; such as finding freedom from domestic violence, alcoholism, addictions, etc.

The following is posted at my own site think it appropriate on this one.

What does salvation or being saved mean and how do we obtain it ?

In the most simple way it can be described is the following:

1.  First of all: "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God..."  Rom.3:23a.  In other words, we are all separated from God, until...

2.  "...and are justified freely by His grace, through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus."  Rom.3:23b.
"God presented Him as a sacrifice of atonement through faith in His blood..."  Rom.3:26a.  In other words, God gave up His Son to shed His blood and die, a sacrificial death, in our place, paying our sin debts in full, past, present and future, for everyone who believes in Him.

3.  "For God so loved the world He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life."  Jn.3:16.

4.  "That if you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.  For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved."  Rom.10:9-10.

5.  "And you also were included in Christ when you heard the word of truth, the Gospel of your salvation.  Having believed, you were marked in Him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God's possession - to the glory of His name."  Eph.1:13-14.

6.  "For those God foreknew He also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brothers.  And those He predestined, He also called; those He called, He also justified; those He justified, He also glorified."  Rom.8:29-30.

7.  The Scriptures also tell us the following:  "Whoever believes in Him [Jesus] is not condemned, but whoever does not believe in Him, is condemned already."  Jn.3:18.  Until they confess and believe anytime during their lifetime, as addressed above.

8.  Upon believing/receiving Jesus as our Lord and Savior, He gives/baptizes us with the Holy Spirit, immediately.  Mt.3:11.  Providing us with His promise of our salvation and eternal life. Jn.3:16.  Then, as Peter said, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ, for the forgiveness of your sins."  Acts 2:38.

Please feel free to inquire as to any questions you may have regarding the above.

God bless!

✞ Are There Many Paths to God?

Jesus often surprised people with teachings that cut across the grain of human nature. "Lose your life to save it." "The first will be last." "Pray for your enemies." "Turn the other cheek." These are revolutionary teachings!

But by far the most outrageous assertion that Jesus ever made is in John 14:6: "I am the way and the truth and the life. *No one* comes to the Father except through me." This claim rankles people like nothing else. Many intellectuals laugh at the idea that Jesus is the only way to God, for we are living in a world where there seems to be endless options in virtually every area of our life.

All other religions are basically the same and fundamentally teach the same thing. All spiritual paths lead up the same mountain top because all religions basically teach the brotherhood and of man and the universal fatherhood of God. That idea is *not Biblical!*

Religious leaders say, "Follow me and I'll show you how to find the truth." But Jesus says, "I am the truth." Other religious leaders say, "Follow me and I'll show you the way to salvation." But Jesus says, "I am the way to salvation."

There are drastic and irreconcilable differences between Christianity and all other belief systems. Every other religion is based on people doing things through their struggling and through their striving to earn the good favor of God.

The Holy Scriptures say, Jesus died on the cross to forgive us our sins and rose from the dead to save us. It is a gift of God. One must simply believe it to receive it. And of course “to believe” is to have the conviction that something is true that we rely-on or trust-in. If you want this gift why not believe Jesus as savior now by faith in what he did for you?

Tell me, just how and what makes you think this abrogates a single point in my reply #4 on this thread, Crusader?

Forgiveness is available until we get to eternity and then our eternal fate is sealed. Right now, people are free to sin and repent; but there is no forgiveness of sin for the damned in hell.

JUST A THINK ABOUT IT: Will you embrace the full meaning of Christmas? Jesus didn't die just so you could go to heaven. He came to give you life - His life; an abundant life free from guilt, condemnation, and slavery to both sins and religion. He came to bring a grace revolution to the world and tha
